Taking inspiration from the real-life "Devils Island" in French Guiana &  the film "Papillon" (1973) featuring Steve McQueen & Dustin Hoffman.
Home to some of Europe's most famous Prisoners, left to not only perish, but create their own world on the Salvations Island.
Although inhabited by murderers, rapists & bad politicians - these dangerous men painted a dark fairytale. Prisoners played to the hierarchy within the island, and would be rewarded for collecting butterflies, in particular the MORPHO butterfly. 
This collection focuses around this twisted fairytale, finding innocence in the darkest places and observing the disturbing scene of the bigger picture...
